ive never had to deal with a more arrogant bunch in my life.

Based on my experence , your wasting your time even looking up their number in the phone book.

That is certainly the complete opposite to my experience , and those of very many Mercedes owning friends of mine (in the Mercedes-Benz Club and on Mercedes190.co.uk) who also use them .

I have seen me going in for a bottle of ZHM and ending up spending a couple of hours chatting to Steph and his mum about everything from holidays in Italy to Pontons , W113s , G-Wagens ... the weather etc.

They know I don't have a lot of money to spend on my cars but are happy to spend time advising me how to look after them myself . They are happy to regularly give up entire evenings of their time so club members can come round and have a workshop session on one topic or another (always fully subscribed) .

Hardly the actions of 'arrogant' people .

You must be thinking of somebody else.

I went through to see them as I was offered a 16V and wanted to know what to look for and Steph chatted with me for ages, showing me a 16V without its head, digging out prices for common parts, talking about his turbo'd 190 he used to have. All this whilst they were really busy and I never phoned in advance.
OK, their S/H parts prices are a bit unrealistic, but they were brillliant with me.

Maybe they can just tell who are real enthusiasts and who are not

Fuzzer, your cars might have been a bit new for them - sounds like they are more at home with older models.

Haven't we been here before??

I am perhaps thinking of a car selling business.

No. I don't think we have. I see this as totally different. So far we have 2 high praises from those with older models and a not too interested from someone who mostly has new cars. All the comments actually regarding the service of the outfit are useful.

I think your 'not too interested' might not equate to...... a more arrogant bunch in my life

I have no view either way, and merely think the playing field should be level. On the other thread, I believe the consensus was in favour and it was a minority that protested?

You have raised a very fair point about this company specialising in older vehicles, I have no knowledge either way, but if your right then pontoneer who uses them, and speaks very highly of them (as do a number of others) is wrong. He has stated how they can, and do service the very latest state of the art models?

I am NOT knocking this company, there have been some very kind words said about them and I'm sure they are deserved.
