I have a E Coupe with the command APS system. According to the manual you should be able to connect an external USB hard drive. I have tried this various formats and set up's but all I get is "device not recognised". Has anybody tried this set up? The decide powers up okay but that's it.

It's probably the format of the disk, I suspect it will need to be fat32. There may also be a file structure you need to observe.

If anyone will know for sure though, it will the boys at Comand Online Ltd

Apologies I can't specifically answer the query, however as an alternative I have just bought a 32GB USB stick from ebuyer for £30.

I copied all my music to it and works a treat. Its small, unobtrusive and easy to use. I did need to do some re-oraganisation/renaming of the file structures to get the file structure into a list by artist, sub-folder album filename track (more recent CDs appear to already rip with this structure whereas older cds produce a filename which includes artist, album and track in a single filename). My only criticism of this USB/Hard Drive method is that when you have lots of music the list is very long on the display and it always defaults to 'A' meaning you have to scroll all the way through the folders to get the artist of your choice.

Still alot cheaper than an iPod.

Regards, Neil
