Poss battery drain

Come daylight I'll check the battery earth lead as far as I can. I'm also wondering if its an ignition switch issue - the last "fail" was just as I turned the key back towards off - as the ignition went off everything else failed. An earlier fail left the wiper blades unparked so again, something happened mid shutting-down process.

If the wiper is in mid sweep and ignition is turned off then it should stop dead on windscreen that would be normal.

I would have thought the hazards and side/parking lights would not be affected by ignition switch but you never know.

With a clear head and daylight I set to with the multimeter... Main earth lead fine, a short run to the body, all solid. Opened the main fuse box - only getting 10v.... At which point the multimeter tip slipped and contacted the edge of the cable clamp .....and magic things happened, hazards came on. The apparently tight Pos terminal was actually not. 1/4 turn of the nut and all is sweetness and light ! The simple things first...
Thanks for your help Dec, a proper Service before next months MOT is next on the agenda. Cheers, Gene.

No, except for the flashing Red LED on the dash to show that the alarm is armed, that won’t show.
Unlocked the car with the remote, before you unplug the siren, that way the alarm is disarmed.

Tape up the alarm plug to keep it dry/clean as its live when the car is locked.

Technically you should also tell your insurance company as your car will no longer have an alarm system fitted! :thumb:
