Possible E280CDI Purchase

Hi,

Great site - currently looking to come back to MB ownership following a couple of years with Audi. Looked at an 09 E280CDI Avantgarde with Command today which was really nice - is there anything to watch out for with this model?

The car has 13k on the clock and has command and parktronic - I've haggled the price down to £23k, but I'm not sure if this is good or not?

What is the real life mpg figure like for this model?

Hi Iain, i've got a 57 reg E280 cdi Sport, had it since December and its been a fantastic car, plenty of poke ( doesn't seem any slower than my brothers 320cdi CLS ) getting 40+ mpg. Price seems fair, i paid £20k for mine in December with no command

Is the price fair? Is it a saloon or estate?

Nothing to look out for really at this age/mileage apart from clean HPI, history, service records, etc. It's still under warranty after all.

Nice cars, they go well. And you'll appreciate the rwd after your fwd Audis.

Sounds good considering it was well above £30k and its 1yr old and a nice spec (COMAND).

I'd expect low to mid 40's MPG on a run and mid to late 30's in everyday usagae

just make sure that the car has HDD comand instead of DVD Comand.

If the latter, it was built before Apr 08.

Thanks for all the replies.

The deal has been done - collect the car tomorrow. I just hope that all the rust issues that plagued my last Merc (C250TD) are all a thing of the past. Looking forward to RWD again. My Audi has been a huge disapointment so should be smiles all round.
