As per title, post a random, 1 line car fact (for use in the pub)

I'll start:

1) Racecar backwards is racecar
 
The first production electric car was built by Thoma Parker in London in 1884.
 
Up to 1976 London Taxis still have to carry a bale of hay in their boot.

August Horch (Horch means listen in German) founded Horch cars and then founded Audi (which means listen in Latin). These two companies merged with DKW and NSU to form Auto Union, whose four ring logo went on to be that of Audi.
 
Recaro seats takes its name from Reutter Carozzerie, a carriage maker turned car body maker, who built the Porsche 356 bodywork before splitting into a Porsche owned production plant and a seat maker.

The Vauxhall specified method of adjusting valve clearances on their push rod engine was to do it with the engine running !
 
Alpina, the BMW tuning house, orginally made typewriters until the owners son decided there was more future in tuning cars than making typewriters.

Like Recaro, Alpina tuning started in 1965.
 
AC Motors became famous for their very powerful Cobras but made their money producing the famous 3 wheeled invalid carriage for the NHS.

The "DB" stands for David Brown - him what made tractors too. You dont see James Bond on a tractor very often do you? Or do you?
