Hi All, looking at a 2020 GLC63S which I was due to collect tomorrow, dealer rang today saying a leak had been spotted during detailing and it had a leaking thermostat, so needed a main dealer to repair. Worried that is might be a crocked car and have faults moving forward as it has been ragged…. Advice and recommendations please guys… feeling nervous!

Were you concerned before the leak? If so, then keep searching. If not, then inspect the car again and if it looks like it’s all in order then it may just be that it’s as it appears - a faulty part, spotted by the dealer before delivery. The dealer would have to meet the cost of repair had you picked it up and spotted it yourself, and so better to fix it now.

If your spider senses were already tingling before this then keep looking.

At least you know that you appear to have an honest dealer, who fessed up and fixed it rather than letting you take it away hoping that you wouldn't notice. Cars are complex and occasionally stuff needs replacing; this is one thing you won't have to put your hand in your pocket to fix going forward.

Thanks guys, I really want the vehicle, spoke to a family member who is an AA man, and he said it’s made of plastic (in a unapproving tone) and sometimes things happen to parts, shouldn’t be connected to any other issues as it was spotted whilst parked up. In his words… ‘it’s a proper Mercedes” and you shouldn’t have any issues ☺️ the dealer could have made an excuse up and then fixed it without saying anything, so I would rather they were honest. Will post some pics on collection!

Good luck with it and definitely, pictures please!

Looking forward to your pics. I recently bought another toy, an older C43 2017 but unfortunately an approved used doesn't mean much from some MB dealers so i rejected it and it's back up for sale before i even have my money back. I had it looked at by my local MB dealer and it hadn't even seemed to have gone through the workshop before i got it.

It sounds like you found an honest dealer. I've recently been driving a glc300 and liked it so i bet the 63s is a beauty
