Potential MB owner...

Hello there, I have owned many many cars but NEVER a MB, my best m8 owns a MB specialist garage and has tried to tempt me a couple of times but Ive never been smitten..
Anyway recent previous are a bike engined track car, M3 cab, 540M sport, Imp Turbo Uk. The family hack is a Freelander2 HSE and I use my van daily, Im looking at spending around £12k on a weekend toy to blow away lifes stresses and keep my detailing skills active. Been looking at Boxster Ss but recon SLK350 is more car for your money? Id love the v8 but budget wont stretch that far Running costs dont bother me (2k a year and nearly 40!) Any experiences of the SLK much appreciated. I know some will say they're a girlyish motor but Im confident about my manhood so Ill cope! plus the missus doesnt drink so will drive home from trips to the pub

I think the R171 is an OK car, but the 350 engine can suffer premature timing chain and sprocket wear.

I would stretch to a 500 or 55.
