Hi

Just taken delivery of new C220 :bannana: with COMAND (and 6CD player), so I am lucky enough to have an AUX socket in the glovebox - iPod here I come! It's a company car, so I don't want to / cant do much by way of mods.

I am looking for advice on how to get a power socket into the glovebox to power an iPod which can then connect through the AUX. Would the g/box light circuit supply enough power?

thanks

Trevor

I think you will find that the standard design in a C-class prevents a 12V outlet from being used in a confined space.

I get asked this often and I flatly refuse to install a 12V outlet into a glovebox. It is a fire hazard according to the reasoning that if there was a problem you wouldnt know about it till it was too late being enclosed but well ventilated.

It would also void your insurance which I suppose is a lot worse than paying for an iPOD kit and then paying to have it removed later on.

Also, I cant imagine any trip that would be longer than the battery life or am I mistaken ?

if fitted properly it would look like an oem option and would be 100% oem parts.
