I seem to be loosing power steering fluid at a rather rapid rate. (having to top up every other day now)

A quick look under the car and I suspect the power steering hose(s) have gone. Anyone know if this is a common fault on W124's and/or whether its a simple bolt on replacement or not?

PS Fluid Loss

'Return Line has a hose clamp at either end (Low Pressure)
The Pressure Line has Metallic Fittings "Screwed" onto the Hose and is a
little more difficult to deal with.

If you elect to not get Factory Hose...'Just make sure the replacement is
rated for PS/ATF AND the Pressure necessary.

Hmm I cant seem to find a picture of these hoses on the Russian site... can anyone point me to the right parts?

Item 95?

Am I blind, I cant see item 95..

[edit] Oh my bad!

I can see it now

item 95 is on the low pressure side it looks like. I think I'm going to have to give everything a thorouh clean and see where the leak is coming from exactly as there seems to be quite a number of elements to the hoses.

I degreased all the lines with paraffin yesterday and then took it for a drive today and isolated which hose is leaking and its mainly the high pressure hose that leads to the steering box. Its leaking pretty badly so I need to do it pronto before I suffer total failure.

Interestingly, my setup is slightly different than both diagrams in that it doesn't have item 95 at all. The low pressure hose goes straight to the pump.

I think I'll change a couple of the low pressure pipes as well as they appear to be seeping slightly at the unions and those ones are cheap enough to not worry about cost.

That ties in with my observation-it doesn't exist except maybe on early models or is for certain specialised markets. Glad you found your leak. Suggest you change the fluid reservoir filter while the system is drained. item 62 here http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GM=717.413&CT=M&cat=504&SID=13&SGR=015&SGN=01
