hi all. I’ve recently bought a 2004 e240 w211 petrol saloon car. The power steering pump has seen much better days as can be told by the constant whine from it.
Looking on eBay I’ve seen pumps new for a little under £70. However, I’ve never changed one myself even though I’m fairly handy with spanners, the pictures all show the pump with no reservoir attached. The obvious questions therefore are 1)
how is the reservoir attatched to the pump?
2)
How difficult is the pump to replace and has anybody got a ‘how to’ guide?
Many thanks ian

I have an A209 CLK 350 convertible, after snapping three serpentine belts, I have put it down to the power steering pump, bought one from ebay “Febi” unit, still waiting on a new belt, I guess I will find out soon, in the meantime, I will peruse YouTube for a bit.
