Powersteering W164

Please can somebody tell me where i have to search for the following problem.
Some times the powersteering does not work, in some cases i could not turn the steeringwheele at all.
I have chech the pump and this is oke.
Who have a idea where this problem comes from???

I am in the market for an ML myself however my C class had 204 had this problem.

The hose that took the fluid from the pump was leaking.

Now I hear there is a valve in the high pressure hose and this is not working good.
Is it true there is a valve in the hose???

There is a valve for the speed sensitive steering that can fail on them. Also have seen the wiring to the valve have a break in it
