Came across this on an evening eBay scroll.

You just cant find well spec’d pre-facelift w124 coupes anymore really; it’s rare they come about. (Especially in 5-speed)

This 320CE stood out to me …Would make out to be a lovely car once all bits are sorted (reckon it’ll take some doing though).. sportline would’ve been cherry on the cake but beggars can’t be choosers :fail:

From what he’s describing; sounds like the biodegradable wiring loom is starting to go: which can be a dear job! And bodywork needs a good seeing to.

Though I’ve seen worse deals before.

When you said 5 speed, I thought that it was a manual gearbox car. I had an R129 300SL-24 with a 5 speed dogleg and that combo was a delight. I'm not sure why he revved the engine to 2500RPM while taking this picture. Maye the oil pressure drops off when it warms up.

It at least proves it can do 30mph.😉

Yeah as mentioned the 5-speed auto is quite a rare option; I’ve only ever seen 1 or 2 cars with that designation.

One of those being my dad’s old 300CE-24, it was fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Think of any option.

Bet that was a fun car to drive! The 24v m104 is meant to be quite well spoken of in a manual.

Yeah we didnt get any W124 with the 722.5 in the US. I do have one in a 96 SL320 parts car that I own. From my understanding, it's a 722.4 with an external overdrive unit bolted to the back of the trans but it's prone to problems. A friend of mine converted his W124 to a 722.6 and he says that it transformed the car. I'd still love to have a 5 speed manual. That motor revs to 7000RPM and really deserves one.

and so it sold on auction. For more than what the seller was asking! :thumb:

I need to start shipping cars back to the UK. Every nut and bolt underneath the ones I own look brand spanking new

There's a super lairy facelift car with a giant turbo for sale near me. The condition of the drivers seat confirms HP ratings

I thought had sold few months ago so I was told by the owner then
Thought the same - don't know the owner, though i'm familiar with him from social media platforms etc.,, but he put up 'DEPOSIT TAKEN' on the listing when it was initially up for sale.. Wonder what happened there 🤔🤔???....

Doesn't look half bad from the outside....... After looking inside, someone didn't know how to train their dog properly 😂😂

We don't suffer rust here in this part of Texas. Not even on the exhaust and caliper hardware. What cars do suffer from is sun and heat that's so strong, it will strip paint down the primer and roast interior. I can tell by the tears in the drivers seat that whoever drove that car wore tank tops. Human oil and sweat will shred leather.
