Probably too late now but Colin Ferns does exactly this service, and is in Richmond. If it's post sale it's about £100, pre-sale is a fair bit more but I understand includes some kind of insurance.
I'm in Raynes Park and I'd ask for Hardip of Star Tec in Tolworth.
Alternatively, Steve Redfearn in Wimbledon has a good reputation with classics and young timers.
There is also a chap named Barry who is a Merc tech and works out of a lock up off the Ridgeway.
Some rate Klasse of Fulham, too.

Oh, I just realised that this post got revived from July!
Tbh I use Pre Purchase Inspections UK and their really good in my opinion. They are Mercedes specialists aswell which helps but they have guys for every sort of car. They dont charge alot and have all different packages i believe. I know its an old thread but may help someone in the future.

The costs are not bad IMHO
The tyres on the rear had seen better days which i even could of seen but one issue they did pick up on was the intake gaskets i think were starting to leak and making the vehicle run a bit lumpy if i remember correctly, this gave me a good negotiating tactic. I may have completely messed that up but it was something along the lines of intake gaskets and also some other things like mounts and wear and tear stuff. All in all though i was very happy as the price of the inspection was certainly alot under what we negotiated! Hope this helps people! Thanks

@KillerHERTZ - sticky? Actually, just discovered (a bit hidden!) that the quoted costs are for a 60 mile are in the SE - they will do elsewhere but charge expenses?
