For health reasons it's time for me and my SL to part. Very sad. Obviously I want the best price for it but equally I want it go to a good home.

To that end, and because of my health what I would really like is someone to prepare the car for sale and to write a nice advert. I currently have neither the inclination nor energy to do either.

So the question is, does anyone know if anyone offers this service. It occurs to me that it could be nice little niche for someone. Mind you, at University, every time I came up with an "original" idea, a visit to the library, (remember them? quaint were they not), would reveal ten or so shelves of learned tombs on the very same subject!

Anyway if anyone knows of such a service........many thanks.

Find a local mobile valeting service that comes recommended on here and/or on one of the big detailing forums (e.g. detailingworld) and get them to come to your house. Tell them what you want and see if they can help you.

Good luck. :)

As I said, prepare the car and write an advert.......in other words someone to deal with the whole thing. I suspect I'll end up putting it in an auction, I just don't have the energy to deal with idiots.

If I was local to you I would willingly help you out on both counts, lets hope someone
near you feels the same way.Good luck to you,and I hope your health improves

Why not advertise it here?

I've given thought to this idea but it is fraught with potential headaches

The biggest one would be how much to charge; would you charge a percentage or a flat fee? I know that there are dedicated 'buyers' out there who look for cars for someone for a fee.

+1
This has got to be the best starting point.
Any piccy's you can put up? You know what they say "thousand words" and all that.

its never easy, I just sold my Volvo on Autotrader. I waited for ages as I didn't want the hassle. Had a few phonecalls from people who wanted a good deal or just talk. In the end had one a geniune buyer coming over and bought it straightaway.

Was actually easier than I thought. Would probably try to sell it on here and pistonheads.
Would love to see how it looks?

For those who have asked for Pics.

That's absolutely beautiful.

Shame you have to sell it. I'm not suprised you're daunted by the prospect of advertising it.

Lovely car Ian ... really sorry to hear it has to go, and equally sorry I can't justify/afford 'upgrading' to it myself at the moment :(

Good luck with finding a good home for it.

Any of the usual suspects in the Mercedes Enthusiast magazine would probably buy it outright. Of course, they would want to offer a price that would allow a markup but then that would be a function of whether you would be prepared to accept the certainty of a sale at a lower price to avoid the timewasters and oxygen thieves that crawl around.

Whatever the case, a detailed advert and a fair price will sell a car, especially when something niche like this.

What's the mileage and how much do you want for it?

This car won't do very well in an auction.

Advertise it on here, why not ? If you put it on here explaining your situation. Re messers, - you're probably going to get that wherever you advertise it !

FFS, is this the longest testing the water, feeler sales ad in the world?

Just post the details & the price. By now people understand it'll require a wash.

Just trawl through some past adverts for SL60's on the net and copy the parts you feel relevant to your car. Concentrate on exact specification rather than condition- any interested buyer will assess that for themselves! Get a local company to valet it and because its a specialist vehicle advertise it on/in the appropriate specialist website/publication.

Its not a easy task in the current climate selling a car, I've been trying to sell my S210 E320cdi as past few months but no joy.
All the very best, hope you keep better and your lovely car sells.
