Price engine oil service Mercedes-Benz

Hi everybody.
In an Italian forum there is a heated debate on the cost per kilogram practiced by authorized Mercedes-Benz workshor, during maintenance-service.
I am very interested to know the average selling price that is charged in your country, in particular the price of 229.51 or 229.31 MB.

Ciao Alberto, I think you are asking for the cost per litre for 229.51 and 229.31 oil. I don't have my cars serviced by main dealers, but many on this board do, and someone will be along shortly with the price.

Recently had my S204 serviced by MB Ashford, they charged about £14.50 per litre!

I was charged £12 last service, i can buy it for under £7 from a oil supplier i deal with!

I've never worked out why oil is sold B2B in Kg and then priced to the consumer in litres

@ IanA2: the cost per kg for 229.51 and 229.31 oil.

The reason for the discussion is the difference between the retail cost practiced in Mercedes-Benz and that practiced wholesale, for example ebay.
In some cases the differences were 300%.
