My S320 CDI is due for a B Service in 3,000 miles which will mean it is on 41,000. I dont know whether to take out Service+ now and try and get it done in that (you have to cover 3000 miles or 3months before a claim) or pay it then take Service+ out in 4 months when the warranty is up so that the same 2 year Service+ contract would mean I'm fully warranted to Feb 2009?

I was quoted £97pcm+VAT for S+ now, so up to Feb this would be £455 of payments.

If the B service was this much or less I'd effectively get 4 months extra warranty for no extra spend if I wait till Feb 07 to take it out.

Call a dealer to be sure, but I reckon it will be about £450, so you suggestion seems to be a good one.

I guess there's always the potential for "We've noticed your brake pads/discs look worn", which if you proceed will bump up the price for that visit beyond that of the service. Do you know how long ago brake pads were replaced?

Its the first time I've had it serviced personally, but I've go the invoice for the last service which was at 31k and it hasnt got any mention of pads on it, so no.

I would imagine they'll mention the pads/discs then ..."just to be on the safe side Sir".

My Discs have done nearly 69,000 miles, and where just checked and they said they where OK.

Just had another look at the service invoice, its a bad photo copy and I didnt notice beofre but at the bottom is "Front Brake Pads 70% Worn, Rear Brake Bads 85% worn" :(

Hmmm, tough call, but I reckon they'll very likely suggest pads, and probably discs too. If you take the Service Plus assuming you're still 3,000 miles + to go, then at least you can say "change the lot" without thinking twice!!

From reading posts on here, and from my own experience it does seem that dealers suggest changing discs and pads together. Did so on our ML when it was 20k-ish miles!! When they realised my flabber had been gasted, they said they'd replaced discs at less than 10k miles IIRC!! The ML is big heavy and relies on ESP, but still, less than 10k!!??
