Can anyone recommend a company in/near the Midlands that does Canon inkjet service repairs. The number Canon Give me is in Luton, Which would be a bit of a trek or cost a fortune sending it in the post or courier.
Most online numbers are London based with "offices" around the country, which only do large injet plotters or laser printers.

TIA

Check out the price of a new printer before you send for repair. The price i was quoted for repairing my 13 month old Epson was more (including postage) than the cost of a new model Epson.

Yeah some of these so called £29-£75 home repair sound low to me. probably want you to sign a 12 month service contract?

Unless you have a VERY specialised printer it's almost certainly going to be cheaper to simply replace it.

I have a Canon i950 (top of the range A4 photo printer), which IIRC cost something over £250 back in 2003.

The current equivalent from Canon (PIXMA iP4500) can be bought for about £65 new.

I got a cost for pick up and repair £71.68.. then a new print head £66. Cost of 3 years ago £400 (approx) a3 i9950 cant get now, or a new one for £400 but i still have lots of inks. Nothing to say my printer could go wrong again?

Canon PIXMA iX4000 (A3, 4800x1200dpi) is £249 rrp ... a quick Google gives retail prices down to £180 or less.

Decided to get the Canon Pixma 9000 Pro... Wow... £390 from PC World and now i have a spare printhead as its the same one as the i9950.
