Printing on Imac

Came across a strange thing the other day, got tickets online for Harry Potter world.
The then send you an email confirming your dates which a barcode and some fancy scroll.
Went to print it but the barcode and scroll were blank.
HELP
So I did a screen capture , saved it to desktop and then printed it out.
It worked ok, just wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience.
P.S. running Mavericks 10.9 now
P.S.S. Anyone going to buy a new Apple Mac Pro as coming out soon?

There seems to be a glitch with Mavericks, particularly in scanning. HP afaiaw are aware and are working on it. Some folks are also having printing problems.
