Need to firm up my spec soon and am in two minds about ordering Privacy Glass - what do people think about it on a C63 Estate in Tenorite Grey?

Thanks

I ummed and arrred about getting this for my coupe and then came across a very good local place that does it too but for half the price. So I didn't order with my car and intended to do so once I got it... still not done it yet as not 100% certain it needs it.

I've got a 1 year old too and I may well still get it done for the summer months, but I do like the fact that I can see out of my rear winder especially for plod :-)

Think it looks good on an estate and I was once 100% that my cars had to have it, but now not so sure....

Thanks Moff - Think that is what I will do. Have just spoken with a buyer from Synter and he said he would bid down slightly on a car with privacy glass, as they take longer to sell on - understated is best, were his words!

Good idea.

Pretty sure that it's more of an aftermarket tint that the dealers do anyway and not actual tinted glass.

I am waiting to see a white coupe with tints in the flesh to make a decision. Loads of very good independents that do tints and I was quoted £140 for a Coupe, likely to be more for the estate.

Since I only have the car for 2 years I am trying to limit the cost of aftermarket bits and bobs. I was 100% that I was going to visit the boys at DMS to get a quality remap, but think I will keep the £1000 in my pocket as it's bonkers anway

Moff, interesting as I was thinking about a DMS remit too... Do you have the LSD on yours?

No LSD as unlikely to see the track and I was doing everything I could to keep from spending more on extras to save for fuel and tyres :D

I've got a friend who has a C63 PPP with a DMS remap too, a 530bhp snarling monster haha

I ditched the privacy glass when ordering my Tenorite Grey estate - too gangsta!

Saying that, the Mini has it and you do forget about it once inside the car but that may be because of the panoramic roof which lets in a lot of light.

worth checking the insurance difference, between factory fitted and after-market fitted.....

a must have for an estate IMO

I have it on mine as it was the wife's request (I wasn't for it originally). Now I have it, there's no way I'd be without the privacy glass. Well done, wifey :thumb:

Too dark a body colour and too dark a tint and it gets a bit hearse like.

With Grey, you might get away with it.

I have it on mine and I'm pretty sure it's factory fit. I couldn't make my mind up either but saw it on a Palladium one and that made my mind up.

It looks darker in this photo than it is.

If it's factory fit it's on the datacard with a title and code number, as mine is.

Looks even better on Silver! :D

Improves the look of the car IMO

Hey Kal, you got any pics you can post?

I prefer not having the window tinting mainly because I found it makes the rear passengers easier to get motion sickness, secondly I think it looks slgitly nicer without. but if you need it for sunlight protection, then definitely go for it.
