Ok, on the one hand, I like the way a personalised plate makes a car look, the exclusivity of it etc... I guess the downside is that their image is 50/50. Some people like them, others hate.

So...hence a poll. I've seen a few plates...what reckon?

I Have just found my perfect plate.

I am so chuffed. I have waited for the last 10 years for it to be released

None of the plates you mention would be acceptable to me if I was in your place. My view is that trying to make numbers represent letters isn't on. Neither are numbers or letters in excess of what is really required. If you want your initials, then RJG 1, 2... or 1, 2... RJG would be acceptable IMHO.

I voted for your name, that way its not model specific and transfers easy, like mine :D .

Portzy.

Do they make an R600? If so where do I sign??

I am still looking for L124 Wks and K124 Wks but they are not yet available or someone doesn't want to sell.

your name is R Gooch not R600 0CH so why buy that plate?

Unless of course you are considering changing your name :)

Forgive me if I've missed something but personalised plates are just naff (and that's being polite :))

naff, never really did it for me at all.

I love mine, I'd say the first one, it seems good value

Don't do it!

I was with a friend on the M4 the other night when a UK car went past us with German style (UK numbered) plates. I pointed this out to my friend who thought I was making it up & the car & registration number was German. He couldn't believe anyone would think that either looked good or was a good idea.

His comment was "That's even sadder than the w ***ers who make numbers into letters to spell something."

I voted for the 4th option.

I'd agree, numbers representing letters are mostly meaningless to everyone else in the case of R600 OCH. If they are represented as R 600OCH it looks naff.

Why not go for something like A1 RJG or B1 RJG for example, most of them start at only £250.

I do agree with you, as Mercedes are unique as they represent quality anyway, but wouldn't you say some plates are worth having as they may represent some sentimental value to you. I really like my car and wants it to have something that I like as well.

Actually I will qualify this with one caveat. Correct plates for the car look good that are model specific.

i.e. C63AMG

SL55AMG

Nick Masons 250 GTO on a Ferrari GTO

Or something a little special Like Chris Evans put FAB 1 on the Ferrari California He recently paid £5,5 Million for.....

Of course these are all eyewatering sums of money and should be left to the rich......

The only private plate I'd want on my sec is 560 SEC - but the last time it sold (some years ago) it was £16,000 - and I'm simply not going to spend that on a number plate.

Everything else just looks a little cheesy...and if it has to be explained then it's a ripe old Stilton....

I've saw A1 arm which looks like ALARM & the guy has an Alarm company, which is fine. Plates that actually spell your name are OK, or are funny, like PEN 1S but when you see plates like R 600OCH it just looks silly.

I won't tell my brother who has S600 0CH or my cousin C600 0CH :o

I voted for the top one. Doesn't look bad at all and a snip at £250.

If they are written as above, I wouldn't bat an eyelid if I saw them. If they are represented as, S 600OCH & C 600OCH, then definitely naff I'm afraid.

My 50/50 observation is coming to fruition

Yes, I'm not one for dodgy spacing. It's a kind of stealth personalised plate.

I voted for naff but if a personal plate makes you happy then go for it.
