Hi, I've asked elsewhere and still can't fathom out what's what, the old aerial is gone and i'm left with a relay which I'm told I won't use for an aftermarket aerial, however, if that's disconnected there is a brown wire which goes to an earth point, a black and a black and white wire like speaker wires which I've no idea what they do, ok, it has a red wire where nothing comes out of it- tested with a meter. The white wire gives 12V! so this aftermarket aerial has Red, Black earth and blue- aerial. so if i connect the red off the aerial to the white for power nothing happens when I plug the blue wire in anywhere. If I connect red to red and the blue to the white, nothing either, no blown fuses, everything else is fine so would anyone who has an older Mercedes have any idea what I'm obviously doing wrong please.

Normally the red and black on the aerial are power and ground, the blue is the trigger wire to power up the motor.
