Problem wireless again

My daughters laptop will connect to our wireless network at home, but will not let us get on the internet. The lights on the network card are lit, so there is a connection with the network, but no internet. Anyone any ideas, you probably have, but I am at the limit of my internet connection skills technology.

Can you ping the wireless router?

Is the connection 'limited'? If you have the network icon in the task bar hover the mouse over it and it should report whether it is or not.

Tried rebooting the wireless hub?

Tried renewing the IP address on the laptop?

what was it out of interest, I have had problems with this in the past and am not sure how I fixed it

My partner's iMac was the same, I just added the DNS addresses and it worked.

I think the system just needed rebooting. Now I have another problem, but Belkinn will need to sort that, the router is not transmitting
