My tailgate has a problem with electrics, fuse 11 in rear SAM is OK, had it serviced and new festoon lamps put in number plate light, garage says must be a broken wire! Saw on here advice re heavy brown wire could be broken, checked this out from tailgate connection and as far down wire as I could reach continuity OK, even ran an earth wire from rear SAM to spare earth bolt on tailgate, I believe the problem could be from a square black box mounted in the tailgate, I have since found that my reversing lights are not working also and the tailgate central locking is not working. Not sure what his black box does? any ideas please. 2003 E class 320cdi T model S211 Avantgarde.
