Hello, I have a problem as above. My left indicators flash very quickly. The front left indicator bulb doesn't light up at all. I've changed the bulb and checked all the fuses with no joy. Also, on the dash, the little light showing that my dipped headlights are on doesn't illuminate any more. ( The two things happened at the same time. ). I think it may have something to do with a new ignition key I got cut. The engine just cut out completely in the middle of the street ( immobiliser maybe?) and when I got it started again, the problem with the indicator reared its head. The hazards flash at normal speed but again, the front left indicator doesn't light up. Would anyone have any suggestions? ( Please keep it simple because I have no idea about motors in general!:o)

Thanks
DOK

Right, I've found the problem. The "fast flashing " is obviously is a pointer to either a blown bulb or a short on the circuit. When I eventually figured out how to access the front indicators, ( take out entire indicator lens which is secured by a spring at the back), I discovered that what I presume is an earth wire, had come loose from its position, where it was soldered to a metal ring within the indicator light socket itself. I managed to do a makeshift repair. When I do a proper job on it next week, I'll take photos and post here so as to help other novices in future.

Still no idea how to go about fixing the "headlights on" indicator bulb on the dash though

Well done, pat urself on the back. Maybe just a bulb for ur headlights ? What year is your van ?

Van is a 2002 Vito. Only have it a week. Gearbox is a bit clunky ( but much better than my old van) and I cant get the marriage right between lifting off the clutch and pressing the accelerator when changing gear.

Re: changing the dash bulb, do you know how I would access it??

Thanks

Most Mercedes instrument panels pull out. Then you replace the effected bulb.

on my old 110 there are two slotted plastic screws on the display front, cant remember if they are caps over screws or screws, once they are out then the cluster pulls forward, there are some lampholders in the back of the display cluster for the lamps that you can replace .
