Hi all, hope u are all well..

I have 2 problems with my 2005 e class.

1) some idiot in the form of my brother had to carry something large in the e class saloon, so re removed the passenger seat head rest. Anyways, having put the head rest back in place, the mechanism to raise and lower the head rest it is not moving it.. Any ideas?

2) the CD changer in dash was replaced some two years ago under warranty.
Anyhow, the cd players seems jammed again, and i cant select any of the CDs nor can i eject any..
Rather than going back to the idiots at Mercedes, any ideas how i can rectify this too.. any sort of over ride??, or how can the cd change be removed and given to an independant to fix?

thanks in advance..

Any ideas of how to rectify this?

There was a recent thread in Electronics which covered the removal of the COMAND unit. To do this, you have to remove everything from underneath it first, including the CDC. Can't remember who started the thread, but I contributed to it.

Try searching for 'COMAND' and 'removing' (or something like that) in the Electronics section.

Thanks for that..

Guys.. im still screwed on the head rest prob..

Any ideas?

Do you mean that when you operate the switch nothing happens?

Can you hear the motor working?

Assuming it's the electric memory headrest, push the button up for a while so the track is at the top of it's travel. Then give the headrest a stout shove downwards in to place, to engage on the track, whilst pushing the button down. Hopefully something will engage and away you go.

Or have you tried that already? :p

When you push the headrest in, it should click down and engage on the motor track... I was told by Ollie that to reset the headrest, you need to get it moving and take the button to the top count to 10 then to the bottom count to ten.... this makes the motor/memory re-learn the headrest settings..... Then again I may be talking utter rubbish!! lol

That would make sense, the same process for re-teaching the windows after a flat battery etc
