I have a 1997 S500.
I have a small problem with the car. When i'm at speeds above 35mph and i let go of the accelerator the revs drop down slightly (just as they should) but after 6-7 secs the revs jump up 200 revs without prodding the accelerator. The problem happens despite what gear the car is in. I have tried changing the gearstick to position 4 then 3 etc. Basically when i lift of the accelerator the revs go down approx 200-300 revs for eample at 70mph adnd then it goes back up by 100-200 revs. Its a very minr problem but it feels like the car has gonbe down a gear and is rolling freely as it was before the revs jumped up.
I'm completely lost with the fault and don't know where to begin! All i know it does it everytime i let go of the accelerator and don't press it again with 5-10 secs.
