I have a 2009 CLS. The driver's side windows started playing up last night.

Open the door, window drops as normal. Close door, window doesn't go back up.
Lock car, windows stays open about 10mm.

    • Door open sensor ?
    • Windows regulator ?
    • Expensive ?
    • Easy to diy ?
    Cheers

Check the courtesy light switch. I had the same issue when I had the door card off and as the switch wasn't getting pressed, the window wouldn't go back up.

Good call hdhothar. I'll check the light switch on the door.

I've checked it, your were right, the light switch on the door is intermittent.
I've pushed it in and out a few times which seems to have done the trick, doubt it'll last though.
I presume the switch needs to be changed?
I wonder what the construction is like, I may be able to get some switch cleaner on it.

    Thanks for your help hdhothar

Looking at this one on ebay
it should pop straight out. I think some wd40 might do the trick.

3in1 Oil or Silicone spray would be better..
