I took apart my COMAND 2.0 unit yesterday after the display showed that it couldn't read the CD any longer. I followed the guide on http://mercupgrades.com/Comand+2+0+Servicing+and+Disassembly-article-20.html and I cleaned the parts including the laser lens (not taking the lens mechanism apart in the process). After reassembling I get the problem that it will not try to grab my disc(s). If I force it a bit (disc halfway in or something) the disc will be ejected after a few seconds (so it appears that the roller is working properly now at least (at least with ejection)).

I took apart COMAND 2 more times and reassembled only to be faced with the same problem again. Now I wonder if I reassembled it wrongly or if there actually was some kind of mechanical failure. I never change the disc so ejecting the disc is perhaps done 1 time every 1/2 year or so therefore I do not know if there was a problem with the frab/insert/accept-eject area before I got the read error.

Does anybody have very detailed pictures or a better guide of the reassembly (or disassembly)?

Also, if there is no navigation disc inserted will the hidden Infos display show a number of satellites anyway? I tested that yesterday and got 0 (gulp!) satellites.

TIA!

Bumping... anyone who has had the same issues or have a better guide/or pictures?
