For those that very kindly made the long journey can you remember the horrible bushes\tree's that blocked part of my sea views?

Well after much suffering, sickness, fainting and sleepless nights all caused by the pain of cutting down tree's with my little chainsaw, I am finally getting results. I never realised these 'bushes' were the tops of tree's at the base of a fifteen to twenty foot drop! I managed to slide down the drop, lay at the base of the trees then saw them down. My son and wife then shifted the trunks, branches and finally me. All we have to do now is shred the mountain of branches and after a few weeks rest, I will see what else I can do.

Bye for now,
John

Hi PJ,
This is the usual view and the tree's that have been 'chopped' are those on the very extreme right. On the edge of the picture behind the garden shed.

The new view is of Exmouth looking east towards Portland Bill, although it was also the 'old' view before nature allowed the trees to do their thing.

The main garden views are of Babbacombe, Watcombe, Maidencombe then Teignmouth.

Regards,
John

thats not very relaxing though, is it? I find it far more relaxing looking out the window my my flat in London at other buildings, gery dark skies and shadows, seedy neon lights etc.

hmmnn tough call.

I love water views. At my old home I had a river view from on top of a hill (i'll post a picture at some point) and would stare at it for hours.

Good work John. :)

To those of you who think Johns pics are stunning, you should see the real thing. John, you cut down the trees? All credit mate, more than I could achieve even now.

Just to add some contrast :D

This was a 'before' picture. Wife was not very impressed when I was sick, but I suppose it was all those 'Save the trees' folks sticking pins in me :D The trees in the picture hide the big ones which had a 2ft or 60cm diameter. We all felt guilty about felling the big tree but.... The view is stunning and both my elderly neighbour and I agreed it had to go. :o

We might have got contractors to do the job, but the land is 'unadopted' so is not legally ours, nor does it belong to the people who live directly below us?? Many years ago there used to be a footpath, but the council have denied ownership, thus maintainance :) which is a good thing really because it gives us complete privacy.

:D

I HATE magpies with a vengeance and we have a tree that these horrible birds nest every year and boy did I have evil thoughts when I had that chainsaw in my hand, but the tree remains!!
