Hi Guys

I need to know how much Anti freeze needs to be added to the car when doing a coolant flush. I check with the dealer and they did not appear to have this information to hand as they thought that the AMG's may

I don't know if it's the same for your model but my handbook says 50-50 mix of water and antifreeze is good down to -36C If you live in a hard water area then tap water should be avoided. I use de-ionised water.

The manual also says the coolant is good for 15 years.

The post got added by accident as I did not finish writing it and for whatever reason I was unable to edit it. In fact, just spotted that even the title is not correct.

The dealer had a doubt about the correct type of coolant that needs to be used for the 55 AMG engine. Apparently there is more than one type and some come pre mixed.

I want to make sure I purchase the right one.

The handbook is not that clear. It mentions a mixture of water and antifreeze but no indications on quantities. I will have a read again in case I missed something.

It did state mb 325.0 so that is at least something to go on. I will check the colour of the coolant in the car when I can. I suppose I can just by the pre mix from MB and hopefully they can find out how many litres are required.

Color of anti freeze is no longer relevant, it was used as in past years mixing coolant had a possiblity of turning waxy and clogging, this has long been rectified, I used what my motor factor supplied when I did my thermostat, green or red can’t remember but he’s rarely wrong, use MB stuff if you wish
