Hi all, only just came across the forum the other day.
I've never had an interest in cars until I bought my first car, now I can't get enough of them! I bought a Mercedes A160 2002. It's not too shabby at £425, few things wrong with it but I'm looking forward to doing it up finding parts is easier said than done, previously an avid cyclist and bike parts are dead easy to come by, for older cars, not so much... Mine doesn't have a radio (I've bought a 2din - I think that's right, Android satnav thing with fm radio and a few other goodies along with a new frame thing for it - can you tell I'm new to cars?
I've already successfully locked the keys in the car, that was £90 and it's fair to say I've spent more on it than it's cost already
Some of the electrics are a bit wonky and the screen washers don't work; the motors go but no water comes out, the reservoir is topped up and the nozzles cleaned out - I think either there's no tubes attached (more likely as both don't work) or they're twisted up. The air intake pipe has broke but electrical tape will fix it apparently and the rear window comes down of its own accord, wasn't good when the dog dived out the window a few days ago, thankfully we'd parked up... I get a lot of funny looks, it's not every day you see a learner in a Mercedes Test booked for the 6th March.
Looking forward to being part of the community
