I'm beginning to wonder about the talk of zero inflation:

BT bill today (contract unchanged):
* Rental charges up by 12.86%
* Calling plans up by 8.7%
* Calling features up by 24.7%

Royal Mail recent price increases:
* UK 1st 8.33%
* UK 2nd 11.11%
* Europe 12.00%
* USA 10.71%

Local-authority lock-up garage: 7.5% up.

All at twice and more the rumoured rates of inflation.

Any other examples? It makes me furious.

I suggest you vote with your feet come next election- sooner "Broon" and his lunatics are removed the better for us all.

Environment Agency Licence for a Thames based boat , up 12% on last year , which was up 12% from the year before ...

Peterborough car park prices - frozen or reduced!
Off-street car park season tickets - increased by 3%

I thank you :rock:

Driven by demand and supply presumably....;)

You'd think that, but I set these during summer 2008, for implementation in Jan and Apr 09 - foresight* is my key!

* some say luck ;)

yes some say that. Others know you are retarded and that + was actually - wasn't it.

still, you can put council tax up to make up for your shortfall, dimwad!

I think we are entering a period where there will be deflation and inflation - depends on what - falling asset prices = deflationary - but at the same time rising taxation rates and services prices (esp public services as tax revenues dwindle) together with imported goods (almost everything :mad:) = inflation. On the other hand rising unemployment = limited pay rises + retired people living on savings are seeeing reduced interest income - so individuals balance sheets are going to be under severe pressure for some time I would guess.

Must go and find another happy pill :)

You mean you charge for leaving my s-class in Peterborough? Surely, you would give me money to have a decent car on display? :D

I suppose BT have to finance the recent drop (£4) in my broadband monthly bill somehow!

"Why are you still with BT ??!"

Is there another landline provider who can offer two numbers on the same line, each with a different ring tone?
