c32 amg
hi I managed to flash the car today but im not really feeling any difference between the factory or performance flashes, should it be noticeable the power increase after the pulley and tune , I know after ive tune jap turbos 50 hp was definitely noticeable , any ideas

C32 I assume?? Yes you should definitely notice the difference!

One thing i would suggest is get the car on a dyno to do back to back power runs to see the comparison.

One run standard then with it flashed.

Don't waste your money on a dyno, just do three 0-60's in standard and then three 0-60's with the map.

Can't see how you can class a dyno a waste of money, how else can you check the AFR,s, this is not an off the shelf ebay map, its custom from Jerry I think!, if he is not seeing any improvement then a dyno is the only way to test and see the results, and hopefully diagnose the problem.

It's simple really, don't see what's so confusing.

If, after doing some 0-60mph tests, the results for standard are the same as the 'mapped' results, the map obviously isn't working.

Why pay for a dyno when the OP can test his car for free?

No one mentioned confusing! Let me explain if you have a map that's running lean or over rich, your not going to see it.

If you think mapping a car and driving up and down the road is a great test then good for you, but with any map I will stick to a dyno tune.

It's not a waste of money vs blowing your engine if its running lean.

If you've paid for a remap and can't tell the difference, it's obviously not working, why do you need a dyno to tell you that?!

Doing a few 0-60 timed runs will confirm whether or not there's a difference.

Rather than a Dyno session, buying a stopwatch and a AFR gauge would be far more beneficial and a one off purchase.

The lambda sensor should be keeping the AFR in tune, if not the MAF is probably faulty.

I would go for 400metre (1/4 mile) runs as that will really test the power output over a longer distance so give a greater variance in time.

SPX is right. If the stopwatch doesn't record a difference, there isn't one.

Stopwatch = £5
AFR gauge = £20
DMM = £5.

Okay you and SPX stick to what works for you guys and I will stick to what works for me, and I am happy to pay for a dyno session and don't see it as a waste of money. and I am sure most who use dynos and have mapping done would agree with me, but no point dragging this on so let's beg to differ.

I don't thing any one is suggesting a dyno tune is a waste of money , But just to see if the map is working measuring the 1/4 times or 0-60 times would do the trick rather than having to do a costly dyno run :)

which are often inaccurate and can be made to give any reading the operator wants.

When I 1st done pulley and ECU I also didn't really feel the difference ( initially) it was only after a few miles, maybe takes a bit to adapt to its new settings, not sure. With that said, 1st gear no real change but 2nd and 3rd was noticeable.

Ps, 0 60 will tell you nothing, it will be a waste of time and fuel, get on the dyno if you still don't experience a change after a few miles.

I maybe wrong here but presume you are referring to the "factory" and "performance" options in the Euroflash software?

Don't go running 0-60 test's or 1/4 mile runs and timing them and don’t think that the fitted sensors will save any damage as has been suggested. When you go full throttle your ECU will run the remapped files and does not use for example the O2 sensors to calibrate fuelling, there are failsafe’s but don’t rely on them fix the issue first then test for performance.
You need to get a picture of actual vs requested, so for example what timing and AFR is being requested vs what is actually happening in real life.

You have a couple of options

1. dyno but don’t just go for power runs you want to be able to log as much info as you can but at least AFR, IAT, Boost pressure, Timing & RPM

2. Speak with Eurocharged and get them to enable data logging within your version of Euroflash you will be able to log all of the above although it will use the narrow band stock O2 sensors to roughly calculate your AFR.

Option 2 is far more cost effective to start with.

Chances are you will find either

a) Your car has another issue unrelated to the map that is affecting performance.

b) The remap needs to be tweaked

c) The car is so quick in both that its difficult to "feel" the difference between them.

yes the factory and performance don't seem to be any different and that's doing 3rd gear pulls, I was just expecting quite a big change but there isn't, 40 to 50 bhp should be felt and other peoples reviews of the pulley tune are very good so I don't think something is quite right at all . I have emailed eurocharged to see what they think hopefully they will be able to suggest something

If you have fitted your pulley already then you are not talking 40-50hp as such, remember even with the "stock" setting you still have your pulley on so the supercharger is still spinning faster. You really could save a lot of time if you get the data logging part enabled to understand what is happening, if you do have a problem it could be a simple fix.

Did you ever get your intercooler fixed and did you replace the pump at the same time?

Dyno's are definitely not a waste of time and after having a few Pulley conversions done in previous cars, real world increase is only about 20hp-30hp, which your not going to feel, but with a map added, then yes you should notice a slight difference

Also don't forget coming from peaky jap turbos a supercharged car is linear so won't have the kick in the back boost like them!

Has anyone tried to lay down a decent 0-60 in an AMG???? Mapped or not they are not exactly the most tractable cars, so in my estimation a 0-60 on one of these is a waste of time. You should be able to feel the difference with a pulley / map just in the way it pulls in normal driving, albeit you will not be able to quantify the exact difference.

If the OP fitted the pulley first then the car should feel quicker without a map, with a map it then just optimises fuel / air / boost so should then give another step change. Done separately it might not be dramatically that noticeable, other option is that the map isn't loaded correctly or something else is wrong...

To the OP, just get in touch with Jerry (which is what you have done) and let him advise.
