He's had a go at the one on the other side for good measure so it's 2 new rear seat belts needed. Furthermore they look a right PIA to fit

Commiserations. same happened to me a few years back. 'Makes a dog cage look very cheap.
 
Is it a DIY job or specialist
 
prob better with a specialist... by the time you break the clips, lose some bits and generally get that ****** off with it you throw spanners and shout at the missus... the specialist option will be cheaper...
 
Must admit - I did leave it to a garage due to lack of time. I guess the job will mainly revolve around trim removal.
 
Just had a quote from MB dealers at £445 to fit both. Not as much as I was expecting as the parts are £240 and it does look labour intensive. I'm annoyed because I'm looking to change it in the next couple of months

That's not too bad, price-wise. Not good :crazy:, but not bad either.

Yes, the timing of this seems most unfortunate :doh:
