    Great choice of car.
It is the pump suction and relief pipe and it goes into a rubber holder that sits in the aluminium part of the bumper.
The ball bearings? I have no idea but it will be best to get a new one. A2203200069 £10.02 from Inchcape.
Only one compressor for the airmatic system.

The aluminium bit is the cross member which sits behind the plastic bumper.
As long as the pipe is tucked up out of the way and not kinked or crushed it will be fine.
The system vents excess pressure back through the filter and MB thought it would clear any dust from the filter so didn't make it a service item.
I will be replacing the pump bracket on my 211 shortly so can take a picture for you if you like.
