Q re adding cruise control to W124 diesel

Just bought a base model W124 E300 D.

Has few if any of the optional extras, but the only extra I would like and would make use of is the cruise control.

Has anyone retrofitted a cruise control to one of these?

Is is ridiculously complex (eg not just adding bits, but changing half the car)?

Is is ridiculously expensive (assuming I can source used parts)?

Any other advice, opinions or observations?

Thanks, but that thread doesn't really answer my question.

I'm hoping someone has retrofitted OEM CC, and has more info than a simple parts list, eg advice etc

Buy the bits & fit them. If you know your way round a W124 it shouldn't be too hard. If you don't know your way round one perhaps you shouldn't be doing it?

You may find a step-by-step guide to fitting one but I'm not optimistic. Have a look on the American forums
