A friend has had theirs re-modelled over the weekend by some yoofs.
Has anyone got a quick guide on how to get the old one out and a new one in? I see ECP have them available, but I'm remote and cannot help them do this.....

Edit - I of course meant W169 and cannot type :)

Cheers,
Dan.

If you are referring to the rear lamp unit near the tailgate, it should have three nuts that need to be undone and the connector removed.

Yes, rear lamp unit....some kind soul has smashed the plastic outside so it's a replacement job. Any idea how easy they are to get to? Does much of the interior trim have to come out, or are the nuts accessible from the flap for changing the bulbs?

Cheers,
Dan.

I have an W169 A Class.

I've just taken a peek inside the rear of my car and it looks easy to me to remove the rear cluster. It looks like you just need to undo 3 small nuts which look quite an easy task. The bulb cluster is undone and removed by simply pressing the four tabs. This picture is of my off side cluster. Accessed simply by opening compartment and pulling downwards the inside cover. The near side is similar. But you just open the compartment and to gain extra space the tool kit has to be removed.

Hope this picture helps?.

Tony

More than helpful mate, bonus - with a picture they can do it without me. Cheers hugely fella!

If your friends purchase a new lamp unit, they will receive a new bulb holder with the necessary bulbs in place.

Make sure he gets the correct lense, pre and post facelift are different. You can pick up genuine ones on ebay.

Just a quick follow-up folks. The friend has received the replacement from ECP, installed today with the helpful pic posted by A150 - and it's all done and working.

Been asked to pass on huge thanks to you all for the helpful advice and the wallet-dent saving - and the fact the MoT is a pass now :)

Cheers all, hugely appreciated.

D.
