C Class
Hi, new to AMGs. Have a C63 estate.
My query is if a getting a diff will improve my life with my car.
I won't be tracking the car- just reasonably enthusiastic driving.
Not sure what a diff improves- is it grip?
Would I notice any improvement?
Sorry if my question is very basic but would value opinions
Thanks. Bob

+1

I'm in the same boat. Don't forget these are estates and so what's the benefit in doing so and (any adverse?) impact on resale with potential buyers put off by mods?

A Quaife ATB Diff Makes a lot of difference in just general driving. Much less wheel spin when pulling out of tight corners and just generally more grip in the wet (you will still see the flash of the ESP light but just not as much).
The car feels a lot more planted when accelerating hard.

Does anyone have any experience on the effect on the warranty as I still have 2yrs MB warranty left

You get a Warranty with the Diff (Quaife) so it would depend on the installer if he would warranty the work carried out installing the diff correctly.

I took mine to a AMG dealer and they said they could not install it as it requires specialist tooling.....took it to a local independent and they fitted it with no issues!!!!

I spoke to my local dealer. They had no idea how to go about it and said even if they did fit one it would invalidate the warranty which seems ridiculous!

Just don't tell them and get an independent garage (like us) to fit it. The Quaife ATB diff has a lifetime warranty. It is one of the best mods you can do. I have one in my supercharged C-Class and we have fitted loads to various AMG's

I'd do it in a shot.

Thanks- where abouts are you based? I'm in Suffolk.
Can I ask couple questions- is it a day job to fit?
Does it need any special servicing requirement and if so could it be done via my local MB dealer?
Thanks

It takes us about 2 days. We can lend you a car if it helps. You could stay overnight? Bring the Mrs....

We are in PO8 0BJ www.prestigecarservice.co.uk

It needs no special servicing at all. It uses Regular 75W90 diff oil.
