Sorry if this is the wrong place. I have a 2013 Mercedes-Benz E250 Cdi AMG Sport Coupe. Does it have twin turbo or single? Wiki seems to suggest twin.

Thanks

Not being "that guy"......but if you lift the bonnet and pull off the engine cover it should be pretty obvious.....but I "think" its two.

I have the same engine, I think they call it a twin scroll turbo. Its a single turbo with two parts to give boost at low down revs and boost as the revs rise.

The results are a nice linear power delivery.. I love it...

Can't get to the car at the moment, its at the service centre
Is there any reason in particular that you want to know?

Just curious 🤔👍

No, just curious. Like reading about the vehicle I am driving, never been one to just get in a car and not know about it etc. And saw it on the wikipedia page which made me quite interested but searching for info about it and more importantly pictures of these "twin turbos" seems difficult to find. Hence why I wasn't sure if it actually had them or not.

The one thing I have heard about the 250, as opposed to the 220, is the injectors can be troublesome, although I believe it was cured in the later engines.

Good video here about the car in general but shows how the 2 turbos work

I thought yours has 2 ? a smaller one and a bigger one.
but yeah every car ive had I do loads of research on it, i need to know everything about it as I can, just to be prepared :)
and being a mechanic for nearly 40 years its just a need to learn more, you never stop ;)

Indeed, the video does show the smaller one and the larger one
