FIAT 500 ABARTH 595 or a Smart Brabus perhaps?

A friend of a friend owned/owns an NSX R and he bought it to ace cafe and he let me rev the engine.

Apparently the seats are made of kevlar

I was always a sucker for a Marcos, although the ventilation in my Mantaray was a joke.

My bucket list still includes a Morgan 3 wheeler, been dreaming of getting one of those since the 70s.

Not really up with newer cars, but I would really love to try a Teslar

Regarding 3 wheelers - do your research. Mine has gone back due to too many faults and comedy design touches.

There used to be a red NSX in St John's Wood for a number of years, but I have not seen it recently.

As said VXR8 or any of the Holdens, or Rover 75 V8 if you can find one? If you are into modern classics then BMW 840 or 850, or just an old 7-Series? And for something really different, a CVT Daf - the car that goes backwards as far as it goes forward (or so they say).

I fancy a Tesla S with 300 mile battery pack and techno upgrade. Would probably need different seats though, the fixed restraint backrest was too low.
They appear to be similar to my Coupe seats, but the restraint is built in.

That has to be an unusual car though.

Rover 75 V8 ... very rare.... never seen one. Lots of MGZT V8s on ebay now.

Even a CVT Daf on ebay!

A proper old-school Audi Quattro.

Escort Cosworth ? (had mine written off by a Dutch truck.. probably saved my life )
Mini Cooper (T/V reg with big arhes and fake minilites - make sure you have a strong spine )
Maserati Gransport ? or maybe Quattroporte Sport ?

I fancy a Tesla S...

That has to be an unusual car though.

If you go down that route an i3 or i8 are far more unusual. Apart from the tech, a Tesla is as bland as a Mondeo.

One car, shockingly, that keeps me wanting to look at it is the A7. It's my favourite Audi. When I first saw it, I thought "really, that's going into production?". Compare it to the w205, which looks great but very regular. The A7, however, is different. A real shame it carries an Audi reputation and there are so many.

(To be clear, what I dislike about Audi is that most of their owners think they are a status symbol when they're not. It's just a fashion trend for the Apple generation).

On your first post you mention something new/nearly new
Are we talking about a daily drive here or just a toy. Also how much are you looking to spend

Yep, thinking under 3 years old, up to £30k, 5 seater, daily driver. But in reality the type of cars that would make the shortlist probably wouldn't make sense to buy - or no more sense than a C63 Estate. So happy for the discussion to continue, makes interesting reading. Cars are just bland these days, that's why I guess some of us focus on the engine.

Saw a red body / black top NSX driving on the A9 on Sunday- they are still around.
In terms of rarity without the astronomical costs associated with rare vehicles as rarity always jacks up prices of difficult to locate parts -------I give you the contemporary successor to the SAAB 93 convertible --- how many have you seen --- and its in production!

Going the 'other way' as it were. Land Rover 110 - not often seen; infinitely customisable too. Or a Toyota Landcruiser V8 - all the toys and indestructible.

Had a LR for nine years and still miss having one………….uber fun.

I've got a couple.......

Honda Legend - Not the old one but the very rare late noughties model. 3.5 V6 VTec lump up front, four wheel steer and because its a Honda it'll never go wrong.

Not sure why but I have a soft spot for these!
Honda Legend 3.5i VTEC EX 4dr Auto

Hyundai Grandeur - In the same sort of mould as the Honda above. 3.3 V6 Auto barge. The have got to be one of the most exclusive cars in the UK as they Hyundai only bought in about ten of them and they were all used as management cars.
Used HYUNDAI GRANDEUR Car for Sale - Auto Trader UK

VW Passat W8 - I can't even find an of these advertised! The Bentley engine shoehorned in to a plain VW Body. Has a little Q Car appeal for me.

Anything from Infiniti!

god no, its brutal looking but classic car

Would never describe NSX has brutal -that is preserve of TVRs , Lambos, Nissan GTRs and fair few brit sports cars.NSX is pretty - but ina very generic Ferrari way
Seen a few , last year someone up the road had a silver 3.0 one and also this one about 3 miles away B16NSX

I suppose rarest NSX in UK must be F-matic targa - taking the pee at 74k new
Trouble was NSX was over 10k more expensive than nearest Jap rivals -so i suspectthey were maximising profit margins rather than outright sales
UK sales -seems after the launch hype it badly fell away
1991 125
1992 41
1993 47
1994 19
1995 55
1996 38
1997 35
1998 10
1999 17
2000 11
2001 8
2002+ 23+

This Honda UK own car said to be the second ever in the UK
