Have been quoted £60 for new wiper blades (Back & Front) for my 22 plate A-class by Halfords.
is this about the right price or was the assistant partaking in recreational drugs?

Is that fitted? Fitting might push the price up to that level?

Wiper blades will take 5 minutes to replace at home. As per Mikey's comment, you'll pick them up cheap online.
Found these on eBay - make sure you check fitment before ordering.

You can look online for the blades at Halfords and fitting is £7.50 front pair and £5, I assume they have quoted correct but are a little expensive for blades anyway.

Try a local motor factors and ask them to fit or drive to the closest mechanic and give them a tenner to fit (could buy online and do that too)

I upgraded to Bosch Aerotwins around a year ago.
Never regretted it for one second.
They are easy to fit, they are quiet and clean the screen like new.
Recommended.

They probably wouldn’t even charge.

It literally takes a few seconds per blade. :)

Do people really pay to get wiper blades fitted (disabled folks aside)?......to be honest if people cant change a wiper blade themselves I'm quite surprised they can figure out how to get into the car and start it on their own!!

I'm sure there probably are, but you're right, wipers are pretty simple to change. The hardest part (if the car is new to you) is finding the bit in the manual that tells you how to set the wiper service position.

Sir !!

Are you trying to suggest that women shouldn't get their wiper blades replaced ??

This is the 21st Century, you know !!

Never heard of this?

It's applicable to models on which that the bonnet prevents lifting the wiper arm fully off the screen. The Wiper Service Position is normally to have the wipers set vertical up the screen.
