Grober- thank you for this useful post. Have you actually removed the door cover? The reason I ask is - the wood trims (top parts) on my SL are coming away from the door and I have been told that there are clips holding them -which are not mentioned in the post.

Sorry haven't done this myself but there may be other SL owners on the forum who have. It might be helpful to them to know the age of your SL i.e. pre/post 1995.
