R Class load cover extension

Dear all,

I have only recently joined the club to enquire about an oil leak. Here is the story: I am new to Mercedes ownership with the recent purchase of a fabulous R class 350 CDI (old shape) from a private seller for very cheap (2010, 77000 miles, £4000!) guessing that the seller hadn't told me everything that I needed to know. But with a beautiful interior and very good exterior, it was worth the risk, even with probable expensive repairs looming...and they were! the seller had tried to fix the infamous oil cooler leak himself and made a mess of it. I sent the car to Monarch Mercedes Specialist near Sutton Coldfield (great bloke, by the way, to be recommended!) who sorted it all out (for a huge bill!!) and I now have a wonderful R Class for just over £6000. Happy days!
I am now looking for a black load cover extension as I have one missing. Would anyone know where to find those?

Congrats on the purchase, they are great cars if you need a big one, and you got a lot for your money!

Are these the extensions you mean? I'd have a good look under all your seats, just in case they've become detached. Failing that, I'd have a look on ebay.

This is exactly what I need, just one, in black. I checked everywhere in the car, and on eBay, they come with the whole cover.
I'll just keep persisting.

I'm just wondering whether or not the MLs or GLs have a similar set up and if so if they have the spacers in common? It may open up your search of breakers that may have them. Good luck!

Assuming this is complete (I know nothing about the seller) and if you are handy for London, it's cheap in comparison to others. Excessive, maybe, but not the end of the world.

You're welcome. Under different circumstances I'd suggest the following: A/ buy the item. B/ Ask on here if it's possible to network the item from London to you. Or in reverse order, but you might not want it that badly! It's been done lots on here before, often by relay from one member to another. I'm only thinking out loud as I like a challenge, but through this forum I once collected a wardrobe (in my R class!) from Romsey and got it as far as Liverpool, where the new owner of it met me and took it from there.
