r reg w124???

ive seen a couple of these later registered w124's local to me, one is running around as a taxi. Ive always wondered where they came from, obviously imported from another country and they dont have wing indicators and always seem to have tex upholstery

Recycled is correct. An (ex) friend of mine imported all of these from India, there were E220 Petrol's and E250 Diesel's, all were manual, all had Air Con (I think) and had either cloth or Tex trim and they were all assembled in India, but with European parts including nuts and bolts, which, if I remember correctly, had something to do with the V.A.T. unfortunately not the same build quality as our European W124 and didnt quite feel the same, especially as they were manual and manual W124's just dont feel right,

They also ride higher than EU cars due to the poor road conditions in that part of the world.

That said, we might need to lobby MBUK to do the same with UK cars with the state that our roads are in!
