I have an R107 SL500 that has been running fine until refently. Now when I come to crank the car I get a click then the entire dash dies.
If I remove the battery after a couple of tries I get the ignition back and can hear the fuel pump. Try to crank, clunk, no power. I am guessing there is a relay or something? Can anyone point me in the correct direction.

Been a while since I have played around with this vintage but I would suggested looking into your OVP relay if nobody has any better ideas

OK so I have now changed the battery (existing was less than a year old) but yes it proved to be faulty. So now I have a engine that will crank and missfire - run for a few seconds - then die. Ho hum - more work needed.

The relay on my 2003 c180 komp was in the boot. Hidden behind the medical kit panel.
