Had a tyre blow go yesterday on the M25, and stuck the hazards on while I was replacing the wheel.

Driving into work later, noticed I was getting some honks and a couple of nice hand gestures and realized the indicators were not working.

Quick check of the fuse map, and everything else on the indicator/hazard fuse is fine, so that's not the issue.

I have, once, got them to work with some repeated flipping of the hazard switch and on occasion I can see a faint glow under the hazard switch when I switch them on, but no flashing indicators.

So am I looking at a likely switch replacement, or does this sound like a relay issue ? If it's the relay, I'm reading either that it's in the switch, or behind the dash. Can anyone confirm where it is on my model ? The CD of factory manuals I have shows no relay at all, which I'm sure is bunk !

On early cars it was part of the switch but I'm pretty sure yours is a separate flasher can mounted under the dash somewhere near the steering column.

As Druk says, on the earlier models the flasher unit was integrated into the hazard warning switch.
Whatever, I'm pretty sure that the indicators on these run through the hazard warning switch and if there is a bad contact inside the switch they won't work. This is backed up by the fact they stopped working after you had put on the hazards.
You can test this by putting a testlight on the wires at the hazard switch -black/white and black/green iirc.

Thanks gents. I'll get to it at the weekend.
