R107 rust on lower doors

Hi to you all.

My 'Manganbraun' R107 is starting to need some remedial bodywork doing. Most of it looks pretty straightforward, except the doors. On both the rear most edge has gone rusty, on any other 30/40 year old design I'd some sheet metal cut to fit, but the r107 has those ribs on the lower doorskin.

Mercedes have offered me complete doorskins for about 200 each, but that seems a little excessive (both in price and work involved to replace). Does anyone make lower doorskins or can recommend someone competent to repair without resorting to loads of filler?

The car is located in the Dudley Wolverhampton area.

R107 face lift, Galvanized body

Hi there all

i am trying to find out what year they r107 had a face lift, and was this the same year that they Galvanized the body (forgive spelling, its not my strong point)

what can i look for on the face lift as i have been looking at lots of R107 and cant find any differences
