Got new glass for my foglights, both of which cracked when used in below-zero temp at Christmas in the Lake District. Had a quick look yesterday and it doesn't look as straightforward as replacing the indicators.

Anyone got any pointers?

I would guess you have to take the bumper/valance off, but I'm sure someone with working WIS access will be along shortly!

I do hope so.

What's WIS?

WIS is the M-B workshop system, and EPC is the parts system. I think you can access them via the web now (for a relatively modest annual fee). Previously only dealers had access, or you could buy out of date copies on eBay (perfectly OK for older Mercs, but technically pirate software and a bit tricky to install).

Riiiiight. Thanks Bill.

You can remove the undertray corner pieces or the wheelarch liners to get to the fog lamps.

Thanks Stats. I must get myself a pair of ramps...

on my car the lamps are accessed from under the bumper (two flaps) and through the end section of the front spoiler which just clips in - a real fiddly job to get them in and out

You can remove the undertray corner pieces or the wheelarch liners to get to the fog lamps.

Once you have gained access via the undertray there are three hex headed screws that hold the foglight in place, undo these and the fogllamp can be removed. The wires are connected to the loom between the inside of the wing and the front panel. It's easier if you pop the indicator out to get to it. :)

Thanks for the comprehensive response, Edz.
