This and that..
Hi,

I recently got my options decoded for my SL500 and it has the AMG wheels and suspension from the factory. Does anyone know what the differences are between it and standard?
I presume it's got lower springs and maybe a different spec damper?

If anyone has any info it'd be nice to find out, particularly if I need to do a suspension refresh...

Thanks

I have a 1991 R129 which has the optional "adaptive damping system" which uses a hydraulic damping system (or so I have been told). This may be what it refers to?

No, there was an option code 783 "AMG Sports suspension with multi-piece alloy wheels". Nothing to do with ADS (option code 214).

I assume it would have been different springs and dampers all round, but I don't know for sure. The suspension part was about £1900 ... that's what 783 cost on the SL60, which had the multi-piece wheels as standard. On other R129s the option cost £6800 (the majority of that obviously being for the wheels).
