R129 box in a W124??

I have a 1992 300ce, 722.358 box and have seen a 1991 300sl box on the bay, will it fit mine, the guy cannot seem to find any part numbers on it, where would the be stamped??

Autoboxes
The number for the 300 SL is different, so I wouldn't bet on its being compatible:
722.363 4-speed.
It's different again on the 300 SL-24: 722.352 4-speed, 722.500 5-speed.

300 SL 717.434
300 SL-24 717.451
